My work experience (pinned post)

Details of my previous projects Here you can find a brief summary of my earlier projects. There is a detailed description of all the challenges that arose, how I tried to solve those challenges, my interaction with other stakeholders, and the key insights and lessons I learned. WORK IN PROGRESS ! ! ! (pun intended) This section aims at people thinking of hiring/working with me, therefore I tried to enumerate here the necessary information to get a glimpse of my current state of career and to give the possibility to dig down further only the exciting articles.  All of the work listed here was done by myself. If I had a partial contribution, I marked it accordingly. Each summary follows the same format. Missing: 1. Conferences and mentoring 2. Some of my ongoing projects

"Introduction: In a celebration of innovation and collaborative problem-solving, the Microsoft Reactor played host to an exhilarating AI hackathon event two weeks ago. Enthusiastic minds from diverse backgrounds gathered to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence, resulting in a showcase of remarkable projects. Among these, a striking trend emerged as the majority of participants focused their talents on generative AI solutions, sparking new avenues of creativity and exploration." Hm, well, I guess ChatGPT hasn’t really grasped the real feeling of the event, so I must write this article by myself 🙂 Recap of the AI Hackathon at Microsoft Reactor organized by the Seattle chapter of AICamp.  In line with the current trends, participants typically worked on projects related to Generative AI. At the beginning of the event, those with ideas had the opportunity to present their concepts, thus recruiting team members. For those who were still refining their ideas, inspiratio

My first data analyst job

Previous work experience : estimating housing prices To place this experience in time, MS Excel still had a limit of 64k rows in 2005… My first paid job as an economist was when I worked on a project, where the leader Hungarian Bank wanted to have a real estate value estimator model, based on their data. The bank outsourced the data cleaning and experimenting phase to a smaller company. The goal of the project was to aid the in-house house appraisers to make better appraisals and reduce the chances of collusion. In those times, it was pretty common that the appraised value 'miraculously' matched the value needed for the buyers to cover the missing money to buy the property... Due to the Hungarian mortgage laws the major threat of losing money for the Bank was a VERY bad appraisal, as one still owned money if the amount from the sold property did not cover the debt. One of the key challenges of the project was to build a training dataset , as the appraisers used Excel files fo

Capturing Key Insights: The Power of Documentation

In my journey of learning from personal experiences, I inherited a simple yet effective method from my father during my time working at his dairy farm. As the CEO and major shareholder, he relied on a diary to record the day's significant events and key numbers. Despite the convenience of technology at my disposal, I realized the value of his approach when it came to quick queries like historical harvest dates or weather anomalies. From this experience, I wholeheartedly recommend everyone to document their own experiences. Personally, I leverage cloud-based platforms for this purpose. By recording the date, using relevant metadata such as keywords like "Python", "BigQuery", or "algorithms", and summarizing the main takeaways in my own words, I create a comprehensive record. Additionally, I can easily incorporate code snippets, images, or links if necessary. With advancements in LLM technology, usability has improved significantly: autocorrection featur

Introduction

I am a Hungarian Machine Learning Engineer currently based in Seattle, with a deep appreciation for immersing myself in different cultures. Having had the privilege of living in Italy and Malta , I've had the opportunity to embrace and learn from diverse cultural experiences. These international adventures have enriched my perspective and further fueled my passion for pushing the boundaries of knowledge of my profession. Alongside my wife and son , I enjoy exploring the world and witnessing my son's unique journey of discovery. Watching him as he explores and learns about the world provides valuable insights that help me enhance the learning process of my machine learning models. Understanding how humans perceive and acquire knowledge inspires me to continually improve the performance of my models, aiming to bring artificial intelligence closer to the capabilities of human intelligence. Running is not only a hobby of mine but also a source of inspiration, leading me to embark
